General concept Signage for the University Medical Centre Göttingen (UMG) to the general development plan

The University Medical Center Göttingen is active in the areas of research, teaching and patient care. Among other things, it consists of more than 30 clinics and polyclinics, 30 clinical-theoretical or theoretical institutes, the area of nursing and nursing function service, and administrative functions. With more than 1,500 beds, UMG is the largest hospital provider in the region and, as the only maximum care provider in southern Lower Saxony, is central to the treatment of inpatient and outpatient cases. The structure of the main building dates back to the seventies of the 20th century and there is an urgent need for action to upgrade the entire area. Since renovation is neither structurally nor economically feasible, the existing structural and technical infrastructure of the UMG is to be renewed. Consequently, a master plan (general development plan) has been drawn up, which includes the structural target planning for patient care, research, teaching, infrastructure and administration. The future redesign of the entire UMG campus will create one of the most modern medical locations in Germany. At the same time, in addition to the general development plan, a general concept for signaling was developed, which, with a final guideline for users, serves as the basis for the implementation planning of the signaling specialist planning.
