The new building of the Dresden District Court will be built in a closing perimeter block development adjacent to the historic District Court. Not all development corridors can be continued horizontally.

The different floor levels are therefore absorbed by an access joint. However, a plausible, consistent and traceable room numbering system is of fundamental importance for operations. The district court has 5 floors, the local court, which is connected via a building joint, has 8 floors. The submitted floor and room numbering system, which treats the two parts of the building, the District Court and the Local Court, separately, was evaluated by the user as worthy of reconsideration. Beate Kling Architekten were commissioned with an expert opinion on the development of possible room numbering systems as well as a numerical room key.
